Sega announced that it will remove more than 60 classic games from many digital stores, especially Steam. The SEGA Mega Drive and Genesis Classics bundle and the Dreamcast Classics bundle will not be available for purchase from 6 December 2024.

In addition to these extensive collections, Sega has also announced that it will be delisting selected classic games from its digital library. In total, there are over 60 games that will not be available to new users starting next month.

Among the games to be deleted are legendary titles such as the Streets of Rage trilogy, Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, Phantasy Star series, Golden Axe, Shining Force and many other beloved Sega classics. However, the company did not give a reason for this mass deletion.

Affordable foldable Z Flip FE coming from Samsung?

Samsung may be planning to lower prices by using the Exynos 2400 chipset in the Galaxy Z Flip FE.

Some users suggested that this was due to expired licence agreements, new agreements or Sega’s plans to re-release these games with remake/remastered versions in the near future. The company, on the other hand, assured players that they can continue to access their titles from their Steam libraries.

This development is actually in line with Sega’s efforts to redevelop its legendary games. The studio announced that it will develop new games based on its classic series such as Jet Set Radio, Crazy Taxi, Streets of Rage, Golden Axe and Shinobi.

Sega players will be able to review the list of related games and purchase the games they want from Steam until 6 December. It should also be noted that various discounts will be offered during this process.
